Style Inspiration: Emmanuelle Alt

Whenever i am lacking inspiration on what to wear, i go through magazines, books, internet sites and blogs in the hope of finding something which catches my eye and shouts ‘LOOK AT ME’. Emmanuelle Alt is someone who i am constantly referring back to when in need of a inspo injection. 

I am always attracted to her restriction of silhouettes and her dark colour palette. As well as her combination of regimental, utilitarian garments and plenty of structure. She manages to experiment with different fabrics and textures so well, such as leather and fur. Alt also keeps it very simple and often quite minimal, with a sharp blazer and slouchy tee being a have of hers.

What i have learnt from Alt is how powerful and eye catching simple pieces such as plain tee’s can be and also how to experiment with silhouettes. I have been a huge fan of black skinny jeans and black tailored skinny trousers for a couple of years now…and i definitely think Emmanuelle Alt is to thank for that!
